I have to confess that one of the reasons I'm enjoying your blog is that I'm a major Anglophile and I love reading about your adventures in this village or that. The image in my mind of the "local amateur dramatic society rehearsed the village pantomime in a neighbouring hall with very thin walls" is vivid! LB
